UCLA student enlightens international conference about ‘the Dark Side’

Ani Khashadoorian started her fall quarter in Denmark, giving a presentation about Darth Vader’s morality to an audience of graduate students. Khashadoorian, a fourth-year English and philosophy transfer student, spent two quarters last year writing a research paper, titled “On The Evil Soul,” that used popular villains to examine the relationship between morality and intention. Man arrested for attempted assault with chair in Ackerman Union

University police arrested a man Saturday who allegedly tried to assault someone Thursday with a metal chair in Ackerman Union. The man, 45, was arrested in Ackerman Union Saturday on one charge of assault with a deadly weapon, one charge of threatening with intent to terrorize and one charge of violating civil rights by causing violent injury, according to police logs.
