OCHC to hold outdoor showing of ‘Her’ at Sunset Rec

The On-Campus Housing Council will show the movie “Her” for its last movie event of the year at the Sunset Recreation Center Wednesday evening. UCLA student government aims to reform appointments process

The way students are appointed to undergraduate student government leadership positions has received criticism, prompting some councilmembers to pursue avenues to reform the process. Some former undergraduate student government leaders have cited issues of transparency and slate politics in the appointments process this year, along with councilmember apathy in researching candidates they approve for appointments. ASUCLA adopts philanthropy policy for donation requests

The Associate Students UCLA board of directors unanimously passed its first philanthropy policy, which details how the board will respond to donation requests, at its last meeting, The policy specifies that ASUCLA will only contribute to philanthropy groups in two ways: non-monetary donations and promotional support. From the comfort of his desk in the UCLA mathematics department, Skip Garibaldi uses his analytical expertise to help find lottery scammers across the country. Garibaldi, the associate director of the UCLA Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, uses probability and statistics to help investigators catch people who try to scam the lottery system.
