Several new businesses opened in Westwood during the 2023-2024 school year, providing new opportunities for dining, recreation and other services to the Westwood community. The Undergraduate Students Association Council passed 21 resolutions throughout the 2023-2024 school year, ranging from supporting different labor unions to supporting diverse ethnic groups. Council resolutions exist to express the opinion of the council and pass when a majority of council members vote for them, according to the USAC bylaws. Read more...

Former UCLA basketball player Russell Stong IV is tallying new assists off the court through a scholarship for low-income engineering students. The mechanical engineering graduate student announced in March the creation of the Russell Stong IV Engineering Scholarship, which will be used to support low-income students in the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science.
