UC Board of Regents’ proposed fee hike spurs dissent among student governments

UCLA student governments are planning events to combat the proposed fee increase by University of California President Mark Yudof. The Undergraduate Students Association Council will hold a phone-banking event on Bruin Walk this week to call members of the UC Board of Regents and urge them to vote against the fee hike. Art, science converge for Fulbright winners

Johanna Reed wants to know how eating pasta makes people feel. To Reed, eating food has always been an emotional experience, and her latest project, making a food opera, was one of several artistic endeavours addressed at a panel on Friday. UCLA Dining Services’ website is missing meal facts

UCLA Dining Services first posted nutritional information online in 2008, but some meal items are still missing analysis. In 2008, Dining Services purchased a software system called FoodPro, which calculates the nutritional value of the foods and recipes served on the Hill, said Joanne McGill, assistant director of business services of UCLA Dining Services. LGBT Campus Resource Center joins “It Gets Better” video campaign

Sex columnist Dan Savage has a message for all bullied teenagers: It Gets Better. In response to the recent suicides by teenagers who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, Savage created the It Gets Better media campaign to give LGBT youths hope that they will have better experiences than the harassment they suffer now and to encourage them not to give up, according to the project's website.
