UCLA Anderson Forecast predicted in March that, if enacted, the Trump administration’s economic policies will lead to recession. Clement Bohr, the economist who authored the recession watch report, cited concerns about President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, mass deportations and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency – an initiative to cut federal spending. International students shared fears of academic repercussions and uncertainty following the revocation of student visas by the Trump administration.
