UCLA researchers find success with preventative therapy for bipolar disorder

A UCLA-led study found that involving family members in therapy for children and adolescents with early indicators of bipolar disorder may help delay depressive episodes. A team of researchers from UCLA, the University of Colorado and Stanford University studied 127 children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 17 who showed early signs of bipolar disorder. Wheels rolls out new electric bike model with attached helmet

Electric bike company Wheels showcased a new bike model with an integrated helmet during a North Westwood Neighborhood Council committee meeting Jan. 14. The transportation and safety committee of the NWWNC, which represents Westwood and UCLA to the Los Angeles City Council, met with Wheels representatives to discuss the new model. Read more...

USAC amends election code to provide greater clarity, transparency in process

Neil Peter Jampolis lit up the stages and lives of his coworkers, students

Neil Peter Jampolis would sneak into the back of Broadway productions when he was a child to watch sets come together or actors rehearse. Jampolis’ career celebrated his love of the theater – he was a renowned lighting, scene and costume designer as well as a professor emeritus in the theater department at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
