Experimental lab advocates diverse research for political science students

A new lab aims to engage students in political research using experimentation and data analysis. Efrén Pérez, director of UCLA’s Center for American Politics and Public Policy and a political science professor, established the Race, Ethnicity, Politics and Society Experimental Lab in August 2018 to provide funding and guidance for student research projects, according to the center’s website. UC decides not to renew Elsevier subscription after months of negotiations

The University of California will not renew its subscription with the world’s largest scientific publisher, a University press release announced Thursday. The UC and Elsevier, which owns over 2,500 journals such as Cell and The Lancet, were unable to come to an agreement regarding publishing fees and subscription costs after months of negotiations.
