A look into businesses that have arrived and departed Westwood Village this summer

Summer brought significant change to Westwood, as several businesses were welcomed to the community, while others said their temporary and permanent farewells. While many undergraduate students were away, Westwood saw the openings of Danny Boy’s Pizza, a New York-style pizza restaurant, as well as Le Phant Milk Tea Co., a specialty milk tea shop. Student researchers look into science behind Palestine solidarity encampment

A group of student researchers took a look at the science behind students’ involvement with protests on campus last spring. Society and Genetics 150XP professor Nicholas Shapiro’s class examines the relationship between science and mass incarceration, in addition to understanding how future scientists can address social dilemmas. LA ramps up transit preparations ahead of hosting its 3rd Olympic Games

After the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics in August, the countdown began for the Los Angeles Games. In August, Mayor Karen Bass announced the LA 2028 Olympics will be a car-free event, meaning visitors and spectators are encouraged to use public transportation to get to the venues. Read more...

Wooden Center renovations spur reactions on potential disruptions, improvements
