UCLA announces new location for graduate student fitness center

This post was updated Nov. 1 at 7:15 p.m. UCLA officials announced a new location for the Kinross Recreation Center on Tuesday. UCLA will build the new fitness center in the northwest end of Parking Lot 36, by Veteran Avenue and Kinross Avenue, said Michael Deluca, assistant vice chancellor of campus life, and Wendy Windsor, director of UCLA Recreation, in an email to graduate students. Active Minds seeks to provide support in the midst of deaths on campus

About 15 students gathered around glowing candles in Royce Quad on Friday night to express their feelings about the recent deaths on campus. The undergraduate student government committee Active Minds held an event called Community Healing Space in response to the death of a 63-year-old man who fell from the Biomedical Library. CSO Evening Van Service may pick up a mobile app for efficiency

Students are dissatisfied with the campus van service that picks students up in the evening, according to a survey administered by undergraduate student leaders. The USAC Facilities Commission gathered testimony from students who used the Community Service Officer Evening Van Service over the past two weeks and shared their findings at a meeting Thursday. UCLA student groups beat USC in voter registration competition

UCLA student organizations registered more than 10,000 students to vote, beating USC in a voter registration competition. UCLA student groups registered 10,109 students and USC student groups registered 411 students, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk announced Tuesday. Read more...

GSA fights UC Board of Regents’ proposed fee increase

The graduate student government is working with a UC student advocacy organization to fight against a potential fee increase for graduate students in certain programs. The UC professional degree supplemental tuition, also known as PDST, is a fee students in certain professional programs, such as dentistry and public health, have to pay. Read more...
