Although no detailed official schedule was released for the president’s visit, Deadline reported that Biden arrived in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon to attend a meeting for his 2024 presidential campaign and greet Black leaders in the entertainment industry ahead of the Grammy Awards. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority will lead volunteers through Westwood to conduct the annual Greater LA Homeless Count on Jan. 24. The December edition of First Thursdays took over Broxton Avenue on Thursday night, featuring a “Let There Be Light” theme. The monthly First Thursdays event series began in March 2022 and has welcomed over 55,000 guests since then, said Eddie North-Hager, a UCLA spokesperson, adding that this month’s event aimed to highlight Bruins and their creativity – from a cappella performances to poets composing live pieces on type-writers.
