UC to collaborate with Israel on technological research

The University of California will work with Israel to increase technological research and development, University officials announced Wednesday. In a memorandum of understanding, the UC agreed to work with Israel’s National Technological Innovation Authority to collaborate on projects that could boost technological and product innovations for potential commercialization in the international market, according to a statement released by the UC Office of the President. Alumnus Meyer Luskin donates $5M to fund center for history, policy

UCLA received a $5 million donation Wednesday to establish a center to apply historical research to modern-day problems. Alumnus Meyer Luskin, one of the namesakes of the Luskin School of Public Affairs, stipulated his gift would fund the Luskin Center for History and Policy, which will have the mission of furthering the study of historical events and how that knowledge is useful in creating effective public policy. Pourdavoud Center for ancient Iranian studies to launch spring quarter

UCLA established a new interdisciplinary center focused on the study of ancient Iran and its influences on contemporary Iran. The Pourdavoud Center for the Study of the Iranian World is the first center in the Western Hemisphere focused on ancient Iranian languages, history and religions, according to a UCLA press release published Tuesday.
