UCSA calls for divestment from bodies involved in alleged human rights violations
The University of California Student Association passed two resolutions Sunday calling for the University to divest from American companies that some say profit from alleged human rights violations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as several governments including the U.S. that some say commit human rights violations. Couple pleads no contest to charges in fatal hit-and-run of UCLA alum
On Friday, an L.A. couple pleaded no contest to charges in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a UCLA alumnus in 2013, officials said. In late 2013, 23-year-old UCLA alumnus and filmmaker David Pregerson died after a car struck him while he was walking on Chautauqua Boulevard in Pacific Palisades. Read more...

UCLA nurse found dead with gunshot wounds in Long Beach home
A nurse at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center was found dead in her Long Beach home Wednesday, police said in a press release. Paramedics found nurse Sayuri Jean Griffin, 57, and her husband, Salvador Trujillo, 57, in their home at about 3 p.m., according to a Long Beach Police Department press release. Read more...
