Westwood Village welcomes new, familiar faces at 5th annual block party

Thousands of Bruins gathered at Broxton Avenue on Sunday for the fifth annual UCLA Westwood Village Block Party. The party, held from 5 to 9 p.m., provided a space to celebrate the connection UCLA has with the local Westwood community, said Michael McCormack, assistant director of leadership and involvement for UCLA Residential Life. UCLA report finds LGBTQ+ youth face greater mental health challenges

Robert Hertzberg, Lindsey Horvath vie for LA County Board of Supervisors position

Two candidates for District 3’s Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representative have advanced to the Nov. 8 general election. Candidates Robert Hertzberg – the current California State Senate majority leader emeritus – and Lindsey Horvath – a member of the West Hollywood City Council – received the highest number of votes in the June 7 primary with 31.08% and 27.74% of votes, respectively, according to the LA County Registrar’s Office. UCLA to extend mental health services to community college students

UCLA is expanding access to mental health services for community college students using a new, scalable and cost-effective care system. The National Institute of Mental Health is funding UCLA’s ALACRITY Center through a $12 million five-year grant, said Kate Wolitzky-Taylor, co-director of the program and associate faculty of the Anxiety and Depression Research Center.
