UCLA students call for return of off-campus meal plans in fall

Students expressed disappointment and concern that UCLA will not be offering an off-campus meal plan for fall. The Bruin Meal Plan enables off-campus students, including those in university apartments, to use on-campus dining halls, according to the UCLA Housing website. Read more...

Ackerman Union adds new dining options ahead of fall quarter

Jamba by Blendid and Epicuria at Ackerman opened this summer at Ackerman Union. Jamba by Blendid is a fully autonomous operating robot extension of Jamba, while Epicuria at Ackerman is a satellite restaurant of the Mediterranean-themed dining hall Epicuria at Covel that opened last fall. UCLA’s hiring initiatives focus on equitable representation in higher education

Recent faculty hiring commitments aim to increase scholarship at UCLA in Black, Latino, Indigenous and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. The murder of George Floyd in 2020 and the movement for racial justice increased awareness of diversity issues and subsequently, the lack of equitable representation in higher education, said Shannon Speed, the director of the UCLA American Indian Studies Center and a special advisor to Chancellor Gene Block on Native American and Indigenous affairs.
