Parent arrested for paying $400K to get son admitted as UCLA men’s soccer recruit

Spanish authorities arrested Xiaoning Sui of British Columbia, Canada, and charged her with one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, according to federal court documents. UCLA Transportation agreement with e-scooter companies to impose new restrictions

Academic researchers sign petition urging UC to stop delaying negotiations

Over 2,000 academic researchers at the University of California signed a petition urging the UC to stop stalling negotiations, according to a press release. Academic Researchers United/United Auto Workers Local 5810, the union representing over 4,000 UC academic researchers, has been bargaining with the UC since May for its first-ever contract. Academic Senate undergraduate representatives to receive stipends for their work

Undergraduate students on the UCLA Academic Senate will now receive stipends for their work. Following a year of meager appointments, the Undergraduate Students Association Council Academic Affairs commissioner decided to fund stipends for appointed undergraduate student representatives on the Academic Senate.
