UCPD on lookout for suspect in UCLA Guest House burglary

University police are searching for a suspect in a Tuesday burglary at the UCLA Guest House. Several visitors at the UCLA Guest House said they found several of their personal belongings missing around 1 p.m., according to the UCPD alert. Read more...

UCLA researchers test potential autism treatment on mice

UCLA researchers successfully tested a potential treatment for visual deficiencies associated with autism by manipulating malfunctioning neurons in mice. The team of researchers studied the mechanisms behind fragile X syndrome, one of the most common genetic causes of autism and identified the deficit neurons that impaired the mice’s ability to process visual information. Epidemiology professor appointed to direct Center of Global and Immigrant Health

A UCLA associate professor of epidemiology was selected to be the new director of the UCLA Center for Global and Immigrant Health. Anne Rimoin joined UCLA faculty in 2004 and has served as associate director for the CGIH since 2014. Read more...
