Harbor-UCLA Medical Center plans for state’s first teenage psychiatric ER

Doctors at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center are working to open California’s first teenage psychiatric emergency room. UC fights state rejection of funding, strives to fend off tuition hike

The University of California and student leaders are asking for additional funding from state legislators to prevent a future tuition hike. The UC is requesting $105 million in funding to replace its proposed 2.5 percent tuition hike for the 2018-2019 academic year and pay for resources to accommodate larger class sizes following increases in enrollment for undergraduate and graduate students, University spokesperson Dianne Klein said in an email statement. Hyperledger’s Hackfest for developers and blockchain technology at UCLA

Developers discussed new ways to apply blockchain technology at an event this week. Agenda: The council decided not to allocate any funds over $1000 or make appointments because it did not have enough members present to meet quorum. The Undergraduate Student Association Council gave the Financial Supports Commission chairperson permission to make two $500 allocations within his own office for a retreat and workshop next week.
