Landfair, Strathmore intersection closed off due to water main leak

The intersection of Landfair Avenue and Strathmore Drive has been blocked off following a water main leak in the area. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power received a report of a water main leak at noon, said LADWP spokesperson Sylvia Beltran. Read more...

School of medicine receives $1.2M donation toward bowel disease research

A division in the David Geffen School of Medicine received a $1.2 million donation to research inflammatory bowel diseases. The Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Division of Digestive Diseases received a gift from the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, a philanthropic organization focused on education, research and the arts, according to a university press release. Undocumented Student Program provides #UndocuBruins funds to students

The Undocumented Student Program provided $500 in financial aid for each of 19 undocumented students using crowdfunded money collected last quarter. USP is using funds from the #UndocuBruins campaign to provide financial support for undocumented students, helping them renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status, said Paolo Velasco, director of the Bruin Resource Center. Westwood group sues, files petition against proposed UCLA housing project

A Westwood group is suing the University of California and UCLA over a proposed student-housing project in Westwood Village. The Westwood History and Architecture Association and Steve Sann, chair of the Westwood Community Council, filed a petition Wednesday ordering UCLA to halt a building project at the UCLA Extension site building on Le Conte Avenue.
